Issue 2, everybody!

The scriptwriting process is a very odd thing. I think last week I mentioned that previously I intended to have the update schedule differently, and so the flow of pages was a little strange. Well, I went back and fixed it so that the beginning of this issue should flow a little better than Issue 1.

I really can’t get over how much I enjoy this issue’s opening. The first few pages of it are a really strong start.

Anyway, I’ve been on a bit of a crusade to better myself. I have applied to a few places to work (Hi, possible employers!), and managed to get my Learner’s Permit again. I’m kind of enjoying the level of productivity that I’ve had in this past week.

I saw Pacific Rim on opening night. I know it’s kind of the standard macho, mindless kind of movie that comes out each summer, but I really enjoyed myself. I’ve always loved Kaiju movies, and I really like giant robot anime (and generally just anime itself), and Del Toro did a really good job at capturing that feeling. It views like a fun little anime. And I know, in my heart, that is why it’s going to fail. Anime, while becoming increasingly popular is still very niche, and, much like the Scott Pilgrim movie, it’s audience is small compared to the rest of the movie-going public. While I know a lot of people will see it and enjoy it, it won’t be the number that movie execs are looking for.

Well, I really don’t have much else to say. Oh, but watch Bee and Puppycat part 1. I’ve watched it a dozen times in two days, and I can’t get enough.
