Waking Up Dead

I cannot stress enough how happy I am that this page fell on the 101st update.

So, allow me to explain why the site has updated past midnight this week.

As you all know, I’ve been single for a while. What you may not know is that I had turned, recently, to online dating as a means of meeting someone (it’s hard to meet people out of college).

Up until last week, I’d only gone out with one woman. We dated twice, then she faded on me all of a sudden after cancelling a date to see X-Men. While a little disappointed I wasn’t heartbroken. I liked her, but I felt a little like my heart wasn’t fully into being with her.

However, after seeing “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” I noticed someone responded to a message I sent them through the website. I messaged her originally in April, but she had only just gotten to responding. After some brief conversation, we arranged a date, and I met the lovely Jessica last Saturday. The date went well—we had dinner, then watched some “Boy Meets World” (a show I’d been meaning to get into for some time). We decided we’d go out again on Friday (today) at the end of our date.

Well, we talked all weekend, and we’ve been spending time with each other during the week. In that time, we both deactivated our online dating profiles, and declared ourselves officially in a relationship. Tonight, we have our Mini Golf date, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I could go on all night about how fantastic Jessica is, but I’d rather not drive you away with how sappy I am. Suffice to say, I really hope this works out for both of us. I’ve been needing a win for some time, and every time I look into Jessica’s eyes, the world looks a bit brighter to me.
