Hello, everyone. I’m still standing (barely, but I’ll get to that in a bit).

Again, let me preface: Waking Up Dead is not dead.

With that out of the way, let me apologize for the 3 month hiatus (a Summer Vacation, if you will). In June, I just started my new job, and let me tell you, it has been super tiring. I’m on my feet about 10 hours a day pushing cartloads of either garbage or beverages between markets and restaurants. Basically, when I get home (usually at midnight), all I want to do is crash, and when I’m not working, I’ve been savoring every second of free time I have. On the bright side, I’ve more than tripled my savings at this point, even with an active social life.

But my life has changed a bit in the past few months. As of August, I began dating a wonderful girl by the name of Dalin (pronounced Day-Lynn), who is very involved with the New York Lolita scene. Dalin, unlike anyone I’ve dated before, shares my nerdy interests. I could go on for pages right now talking about her, but I’ll just leave it as that, as I have business to take care of—suffice to say, I’ve been focusing a lot of my time on her.

Anyway, enough about my life—here’s what you’re waiting for: I’m planning on bringing the comic back soon. I’m hoping to start updating again sometime this month. However, I noticed that, as soon as I switched to two updates a week, things got out of control, so I think I’m going to have to cut everything back to one update a week. I just need to decide what day to choose—I liked having updates on days that most comics don’t update (Tuesday), but I’ll post a poll on our Facebook page for what day people like most. Additionally, I’ll make it a point to work on scripting at least once a week, so that I don’t fall into the same rut I did with Occulture Shock. Finally, I’m considering switching from Photoshop to Manga Studio, as it may simplify the process I use, at the expense of having .gif pages. I’d like to get some input on that as well.

I’m too invested in the characters and plot of this series to let it fall to the wayside completely. I feel really crappy about this hiatus, and want nothing more than to tell the story.

Now, with all the business out of the way, THIS WEEKEND IS NYCC. Well, actually, NYCC started today, but I’LL BE AT NYCC ON SATURDAY. I’m going to be cosplaying as Spike Spiegal again (jewfro power, yo), so if you’re around and see me, feel free to wave me down and I may just give you one of the remaining WuD stickers I have from last year.

Anyway, I’ll keep you all posted on what’s going on with the comic. For now, I’ll see you soon.
